New year's eve. Contrary to cold and rainy days when I arrived in Sydney, the weather in a recent few days is amazingly fine! Sunny shiny!

Unlike Japan, businesses don't have long new year's holiday here, but still, most of the stores close on the new year's day. I and Morimori went grocery shopping.

the reftover beef from last night and vegetables were gone to crew's stomach thru BBQ oven. They said "we barbecued all the food in sight". I guess they were deadly starving.

Appearance wise, Takahiro looks like a sushi chef with hachimaki (twisted towel) around his head.

Really tricky to flip over the sushi piece after putting sashimi on rice.

I know I don't have to twis my body when I flip over the sushi....but can't help

New Year's Eve feast! What a happy surprise! We can eat sushi to celebrate coming new year in Australia!
All the sushi had gone in a second.

After a while, it's time for some crew to leave here for the airport.

We decided to join (casually) the famous Sydney Harbor new year's fireworks as we happend to be here this year.

We watched the 9pm show at the terrace in our house (didn't have a perfect view but enogh to enjoy). For the midnight one, we walked for 20mins to the Anzac Bridge. We always drive through this bridge but first time to walk on.

Anzac
(Australian and New Zealand Army Corps)
I though this is "Anzac's statue" but it was not. Anzac was not Mr.Anzac nor General Anzac. Anzac is "Australian and New Zealand Army Corps" who dedicated to Australia and New Zealand in WW1.

Anzac Bridge、
Only roads "to Sydney central" was closed.

I heard people stard cueing up for good view around noon in Harbor Bridge areas.

From where we were, although it was not that close, we could watch the fire work very clearly. Enjoyed a lot.

The scale is smalled than Japanese fireworks but the best thing of this fireworks is that we can see the beautiful fireworks with the view of Opera House, Harbor Bridge, and some iconic buildings in Sydney with the water.

In the end, fireworks came out from the Harbor Bridge rails. Amazing.

A Happy New Year from Team Bengal7. I hope you enjoy Bengal7 and HORIZON's activities this year too through this blog.
